Robyn Germyn and Joseph O'Connor won the lead roles in TFN's science fiction film "The Butterfly" written & directed by Austin Newman.
Casting for the two lead roles is over, and the winners of the video submissions is decided.
Robyn Germyn will play Lacey, a successful app developer who agrees to meet her estranged alcoholic father Ze(Joeseph O'Connor) who disappeared suddenly years prior when she was a young girl. Its a complicated role for any actress and the story and subject matter did attract plenty of competition for the roles when casting notices went out. Director Austin Newman was very impressed with both Robyn's and Joesph's video submissions and remarked in particular that Joseph had "owned" his character.
Joseph O'Connor is returning from a performing a smaller role TFN's first film "Good Friends" and is going from supporting to lead. Since Good Friends, O'Connor has also been very active with OIF in Orlando, and has directed 3 short films of his own while keeping his ears open for his next TFN role.
Director Austin Newman by all accounts is enjoying the process and was recently able to secure two key locations he had envisioned for the film. As the shooting date approaches Austin eagerly awaits the new challenge and continues to make minor improvements and prepare with the crew.
